Review tools for local businesses

Make it easier for customers to share their experience.

Reviews help people compare local businesses and can contribute to local visibility. Locally Shown is testing a simple placard that lets genuine customers tap or scan to open a business’s Google review form.

Why reviews matter

Trust and visibility meet at the customer experience.

A review tool should remove friction after a real customer experience. It should not manufacture praise or promise that one signal controls local search.

01

Help people choose

Recent, genuine customer experiences give prospective customers useful context while they compare nearby options.

02

Support local prominence

Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help a business’s local ranking, alongside relevance and distance.

03

Build a responsible habit

A clear request point makes honest feedback easier without incentives, rating pressure, or filtering customers by sentiment.

The local pilot

One simple path from finished service to honest feedback.

The first version stays intentionally hands-on. Each selected placard is prepared, delivered, and tested with the business before Locally Shown decides what should scale.

  1. 01

    Match the business

We confirm the public business profile, customer handoff, and a sensible place for the placard.

  2. 02

    Prepare the placard

The insert, QR path, and NFC tap point are customized around the business and its Google review form.

  3. 03

    Deliver and test

Aaron brings the placard to the business, tests the tap-and-scan path, and helps choose a practical placement.

  4. 04

    Learn from real use

The local pilot shows whether customers use the tool and which businesses benefit before the offer expands.

What selected businesses receive

A working customer handoff—not a box of parts.

The pilot is designed to be useful on day one. Locally Shown handles the physical setup and confirms that both paths reach the correct review destination.

  • 01A customized 4×6-inch placard insert
  • 02A QR code connected to the business’s Google review form
  • 03An NFC tap point programmed to the same destination
  • 04Local hand-delivery and an in-person function test
  • 05Practical guidance for an appropriate customer handoff

Responsible by design

Make feedback easier. Never predetermine it.

Invite honest feedback

The message is neutral and intended for genuine customers after a real experience.

No incentives

The placard does not offer discounts, gifts, or benefits in exchange for a review.

No review gating

Customers are not filtered by satisfaction before they reach the public review destination.

No ranking promise

Reviews can support prominence, but no placard controls search results or guarantees improvement.
