Your next campaign doesn’t have to start from scratch
HVAC Google Ads Examples, Keywords & Setup Guidance
Running Google Ads for an HVAC business means deciding what to advertise, which searches to target, and what to say when a homeowner finds you. This library gives HVAC owners and small marketing teams practical material to work from—whether you’re starting, returning to advertising, or improving an existing campaign.
Inside: ready-to-adapt ad copy, keyword and negative-keyword suggestions, and landing-page wording for six residential services, plus shared campaign and tracking checks. Use it as a starting point or a reference alongside your current account—not a reason to replace an approach that’s working.
How to use this library
- 01
Find the service you advertise
Start with AC repair, heating, heat pumps, replacement, or maintenance. Open the ad, keyword, or page-copy section you need.
- 02
Adapt—not just paste
Copy useful examples into the appropriate fields. Keep only services and claims that are true, and check character limits after editing.
- 03
Check the setup before spending
Review your service area, budget, landing page, and tracking. If your ads already work, use the checks to investigate gaps—not change everything.

Before you spend
Locally Shown recommendations
Use these checks for a new campaign. For an established campaign, investigate documented gaps without disrupting what works.
Focus, networks, and locations
Start with a service you can deliver and fund. Match intent across keywords, ads, and the page. For a focused initial Search test, consider leaving Search Partners and Display expansion off where offered. Choose actual served cities, ZIPs, or an appropriate radius; consider presence targeting instead of interest alone. Check exclusions and the account time zone. Location detection is not perfect.
Google: Advanced location options ↗Budget and bidding
Choose an amount the business can afford to test. Monthly budget ÷ 30.4 gives a planning daily average, not a daily cap. Most campaigns can spend up to twice their average daily budget on a day; budget changes affect limits. No CPC or lead-volume forecast is supplied.
Google: Average daily budgets ↗Preserve a successful conversion-based strategy if its goals and measurement remain appropriate. Maximize conversions requires conversion tracking. Maximize clicks with a deliberate CPC ceiling is a possible click-focused test—not an optimization for qualified jobs. Manual CPC requires maintaining bids. Never silently turn a CPC planning estimate into a bid.
Google: Maximize clicks ↗ · Google: Maximize conversions ↗ · Google: Manual CPC ↗
Before enabling
Keep a new campaign paused until billing, verification, applicable policy declarations, final URLs, staffing, and measurement are checked. Confirm someone can answer during advertising hours and follow up on forms. Resolve actual errors; not every optimization suggestion is a requirement.
Tracking & weekly review
Locally Shown recommendations
Test the whole contact route
Distinguish calls from ads, calls from the website, and taps on phone links. A tap does not prove a connected call, and a long call is not automatically qualified. Submit a test form; confirm delivery and a successful-submission event, not just a button-click event. Check duplicate tags/imports and whether campaign goals match intended outcomes. The library does not install tracking or determine your privacy and consent obligations.
Google: Conversion measurement ↗ · Google: Phone call conversion tracking ↗
Review intent and lead quality
Check delivery and lead handling soon after launch, then review consistently using comparable periods and allowing for booking delays. Keep relevant searches, monitor unclear intent, and exclude clearly irrelevant searches at the narrowest appropriate scope. Some search terms are omitted for privacy. Record the service requested, area fit, qualification, and booking outcome.
Google: Search terms report ↗Diagnose before replacing everything
No delivery: check status, policy, billing, bids, and targeting. Clicks without leads: test the page and measurement, then inspect intent. Leads without jobs: review response, qualification, and quote follow-up. Log each change, its evidence, and the next review date.
Cost per qualified lead = spend ÷ qualified leads. Booked-job cost = spend ÷ booked jobs. ROAS = attributed revenue ÷ spend; it is not profit. With a zero denominator, report “not available,” not zero cost.
No change can be the right outcome
If tracking is credible, leads fit, economics meet your goals, and the customer experience works, leave the working approach alone. This generic reference cannot certify or audit your account.
Claims & customization
Verify before using
Base examples do not require a company name or city. If personalization exceeds a field limit, keep the base wording. Mention only equipment and work your team actually handles.
Same-Day Service Available
Use only when same-day capacity is actually available. Remove the claim when capacity changes.
24/7 Emergency Service
Use only when the advertised emergency service is staffed and delivered around the clock.
Licensed and Insured
Confirm current credentials, coverage, and applicable service/territory before using.
Financing Options
Use only for a current financing program. Put eligibility, approval requirements, and terms on the destination page.
Ask About Available Rebates
Use only after confirming current programs, equipment and location eligibility. Do not imply everyone qualifies.
Ask About Warranty Coverage
Use only when you can explain the actual warranty provider, covered work and exclusions.
Read Our Customer Reviews
Link to genuine, attributable reviews. Do not invent counts, ratings, endorsements or testimonials.
Prices, discounts, savings, and availability need current supporting evidence and applicable terms on the destination. These examples are not performance or approval guarantees.
